I would not recollect that is excessive. The way I see it, don't give me paid time off in any form and wait me non to use it. As well, to me, "sick days" include days when "I just can't."
level two
Agreed. Mental wellness so oftentimes is overlooked. And depending on what kind of task you have, information technology might be meliorate for both you and your employer to take days off when yous just aren't feeling right.
level 1
No. People are entitled to sick days. One day a month is not excessive.
level 2
Practice you lot get ill that often? I tin't remember the concluding time I was so ill I couldn't/wouldn't go to work
level ane
Possibly, I can't remember calling in sick more than than once or twice in a given year.
level 1
No, I wouldn't. Equally long as you accept the sick fourth dimension available, you use it whenever you need to.
level 1
Depends on the chore and how much ill time yous get annually. But only calling out once per calendar month over iii months does give off the impression that someone just doesn't have a very good work ethic.
level ane
No. I take a guy who calls in one time every pay period (twice a calendar month) for the past six months. At outset I was worried and then I got a call from a third party referral agent looking for his employment history. The jackass is going to jump ship and wanted to burn his sick leave. (He doesn't know I know but I know)
level 2
I guess I could understand why he'd exercise that, although information technology's still dickish. I mean, you all the same become the coin if you exit without taking the sick days right?
level 1
No information technology's not. Where I work we get 24 hours sick every three months and then its a given that we are going to miss at to the lowest degree once a month.

It depends if you are really sick. An employee is entitled to well-nigh that, so I wouldn't say anything, but it is unusual to become sick that frequently. He would get very piddling leeway from me the time that he gets really sick and needs a calendar week, though. It also largely depends on your work ethic when you lot are at piece of work.

I've called in ill 3 times in 24 years, and then there'due south that.
